Basketball

Well I am writing about this, for I played basketball tonight. I was just thinking how priveledged I am to play basketball. I think about how I was able to have the opportunity to play basketball in college and learn so much, and maybe be able to use it for the Lord someday. I think of how many people were not able to do what I have, and even though it may have been hard and frustrating many times, it was a priveledge and I hope and pray that the Lord can use that to His glory in the future! 

Something else I have thought of before to be thankful for with basketball, and other sports, is that I can hear and I have both arms, legs and eyes to play this sport. I have seen and played against many people who cannot say this and play with a disability. I am encouraged by these people, and challenged. The joy they have, and the fun they have rebukes me to be thankful for the way the Lord has allowed me to live and play. It may be a minuscule thing that many do not think of, but I am so thankful God has made me the way He has and allowed me to be who I am. 

Now how does this relate to who God is. I believe this relates to God's Omniscience. God has given me a burden for sports ministry. I want to use what God has given me for His glory. In all reality, basketball has no eternal value, unless we use it for the glory of the Lord to spread His gospel!!! My passion has been strengthened as of late and I so want to prepare myself to serve the Lord in this way, or wherever He so desires. My dream one day would be to start my own sports mission to send people abroad, but that is in God's hands. I pray God uses me for His glory to see people saved for His glory!

Be of Good Courage, God can use you! Everyone has diff abilities and talents, use them for the Lord, it isn't worth anything if we don't! Dream BIG, our God is a God that cannot fail! "He is able to do exceeding abundantly, more than we ask or think." - Gal. 3:20
